Southbank Tower

Rising to 41 storeys, Southbank Tower represents inspired urban living, moments from the River Thames and standing proud as one of London’s most unique addresses. The development enjoys a riverside location, at the heart of all that this vibrant area has to offer.

Why Aquamark?

Following the installation of a large light fixture in the courtyard area, the building faced significant access challenges when it came to cleaning the windows.

The MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platform) previously used to complete these cleans could no longer be operated safely within the restricted space – leaving several windows inaccessible and the cleaning schedule disrupted.

Aquamark was brought in to assess the situation and provide a safe, practical, and effective alternative cleaning solution that would restore regular façade maintenance without compromising the site’s aesthetic or operational requirements.

Solution

Maintaining the façade and windows of a high-rise building in a busy urban area.

Aquamark found a highly specialist piece of machinery which we now hire to carry out the clean. The equipment is operated by a highly trained operative due to its complexity. This has allowed us to clean the roof and atrium around thelight fixtures every three months.

The BMU at the top of the development is currently not working, so we use rope access to clean the tower and offices onsite. Have to accessthe penthouse apartments and use A-frame counterweight to get over the balustrades.

We also carry out weekly cleans of all the entrances carried out using our Water-Fed Pole system.
